A SharePoint knowledge assistant can help employees navigate approved information. The strongest first use case is narrow enough to test—and valuable enough that people will use it.

An HR policy assistant

Help employees locate the current onboarding checklist or leave policy, with a clear handoff to HR for individual circumstances.

An IT knowledge assistant

Guide employees to approved troubleshooting steps, support procedures, and the right escalation path.

An operations assistant

Make standard operating procedures easier to find, compare, and follow across teams and locations.

Before you build your agent

What does this SharePoint agent builder create?

It creates a preliminary, rules-based planning brief from your selections: an implementation direction, suggested knowledge sources, sample prompts, governance checkpoints, and pilot steps. It does not create, license, or deploy an agent in your Microsoft environment.

Should we use an agent in SharePoint or Copilot Studio?

A focused knowledge scenario may suit an agent in SharePoint or Microsoft 365 Copilot. Workflow actions, additional systems, and external channels can require a more advanced design, such as Copilot Studio. Your administrator or implementation partner should validate the final choice against your tenant, authentication needs, and current licensing.

Will an agent fix SharePoint permissions?

No. Permission-aware retrieval does not repair overly broad source access. Review group membership, sharing links, sensitive content, and ownership before rollout. Test with different user roles, including people who should not see a document.

Do we need Microsoft licenses to use this planning tool?

No Microsoft license is needed to generate this blueprint. Deploying and using an actual agent can require eligible licenses or metered capacity. Availability, connectors, channels, and costs vary by solution and tenant and should be confirmed before implementation.

Does this tool collect our documents or save the answers?

The builder does not request documents, credentials, or personal information. It generates the brief in your browser and does not submit your selections to 6SC. If you choose to book a consultation, the separate scheduling service collects the details you provide there. Standard website analytics and the site privacy policy still apply.
